It's Snow Cold!

When we first encountered teen temperatures back in early December, it was painful to step outside and so we just didn't. But after more than a month of this type of weather, our bodies have acclimated and we're letting the temperatures dictate how long we stay out rather than whether or not we go out at all.

The boys were excited to get their new pull sled from Amazon this week. I had been looking for a good, sturdy tandem downhill sled that could double as a pull sled around the yard. Found it. Nico loved sledding down the tiny mound of snow at the end of our driveway turnaround. Little does he know that it's just a warm-up for his introduction to a real hill--have been scouting some nearby sledding hotspots and think I'm going to throw a helmet on him and give it a try. I would absolutely love to get to Mad River or another one of our local ski resorts before the winter's through to take him tubing.

Rocco just does not have any fun when we get bundled up and go out. He pretty much whines or cries the entire time. He really hates putting on and wearing his boots. We finally got him to walk in the them today, and he seemed to calm down each time he began taking a few slow steps. But then he would fall and get upset all over again. He's not even that fond of being pulled on the sled...those darn boots follow him everywhere.
