Nativity

This year's visit to the life-size nativity waited until after Christmas, as we wanted to hold off until baby Jesus had been placed in the manger Christmas Eve. So we went today--on another windy, 20-degree December day--and took it all in...very quickly. Nico pointed out Jesus to me before I had a chance to show him, and he seemed very happy to see the donkey. But the weather got to him almost immediately and he asked to get back in the car after only about a minute. We tried toughing it out and seeing it all, but Nico wasn't up for it. After we visited the stable and manger scene we moved over to Gabriel talking to Mary (a little backward, I know). I began quizzing Nico about the name of the angel from our Christmas books, but he replied, "I'm too cold. Where are the wisemen?" And so we walked over to the wisemen and I tried talking about gold, frankincense and myrrh...but Nico looked like he was freezing and miserable and probably only heard something that sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher. I snapped a couple of quick photos and whisked everyone back to the car.
