Blessings

Nico made a chain of blessings again this year, adding a link each day inscribed with something for which he is thankful. It was so sweet to hear how his blessings changed from last year. This year, there were several days when he mentioned someone he was thankful for, not simply something. It warmed my heart.

Here are some highlights:

Race cars, people, princesses and mermaids This was Day 1--he was very eager to get started, apparently. When I first asked him to name something for which he was thankful, he paused, put his finger to his lips to think for a moment, and then blurted, "Race cars, people and princesses!" When he heard me recounting his reply to Mark a few minutes later, he said, "And mermaids, too, Mommy." I guess he's not totally cured of his crush on Ariel.

Rocco "Aww, you're thankful for Rocco?" I asked. "Yes, and I also love him."

Snoopy After watching "It's Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown."
